What have you learnt from your audience feedback?

My audience feedback has shown me a number of different things. For intace, many audience members look for an interesting storyline or message in a music video as that will keep them watching, from what i have gathered, audiences are not satisfied by a full performance video, especially if they do not particularly like the song. The video for the Two Door Cinema Club song 'Something Good Can Work' is a eample of a performance music video and recieved some negative responses from the audience of Youtube, this has resulted in the band releasing a new video for the song which shows that the audiences of music videos can have a large effect on what kind of music videos are produced. My audience feedback shows that people expect and almost film-like standard to a music video as they wish to be entertained by the narrative within the music video as well as by the band itself and the song. However, unlike a film, audiences epect a music video to be easy to follow and to have a clear meaning to it otherwise they will be dissatisfied by the video compared to a film where they may wish to watch the future films in order find out more about the story.
Audiences also expect certain things when it comes to magazine adverts. They expect to see large font that tells them vital information about the product that is being sold, they also expect the advert to be visually appealing so that it catches their eye and makes them look at the advert. They also seem to want to see the artist on the advert as they can see exactly whos music they are buying, in order to create a relationship between the artist(s) and their audience. they also expect the advert to corrilate with the album they may be buying, so that they can fully recognise the band and pick up on the theme that the are trying to portray. In some cases they may also expect a certain message to be portrayed, for example, The Steriophonics album advert 'Keep Calm And Carry On' was sending a message to the government as the original phrase was used as propaganda during the second world war. The poster shows the band at a table with flooding all around them, this is suggesting that even in times of jepardy, the government will still try and blind people from the truth.

Audiences seem to expect similar things in a digi pack as they do in a magazine advertisment. They expect to see the artist at some point in the digi pack in order to associate the songs to the artist, they also want to see font that corrilates with the magazine advert and perhaps a similar picture of the artist as the magazine advert for thealbum. The Kooks used this technique with their album 'Inside In Inside Out' where the actually used thesame picture on the front cover of their digi pack as they did for their magazine advert. This shows that they are trying to form a link between all of their products in order to make their audience more likely to spot their album in the shop and therefore buy it.
